Airfix HMS Illustrious 1.350 scale
Now here’s a treat – Gareth’s lovely HMS Illustrious project. As Gareth says:
” I think Airfix have done really well with this and provide a much needed value for money kit in this scale. The kit itself is simple in construction and builds into an impressive model”. He has added some scratched etch to enhance the radar and some other bits, but mostly from the box. The gallery images say it all!

Revell Bismarck German Battleship 1.350

The best Bismarck on the market and really looks the part when complete. I hope that the editor and you feel I have done the kit justice? For me it’s my best ship model yet and I am pleased with how it looks; mast issues aside. I learned many new techniques in this build and I am particularly pleased with the ‘wooden’ deck as I feel I really captured this key element accurately.

Trumpeter HMS Hood 1.350

By Les Venus
I really enjoyed this model it’s absolutely first class and the level of detail from the box is way better than that offered in the Yamato. Fit is mostly excellent and instructions clear and logical.
Trumpeter U.S. Aircraft Carrier CV-8 Hornet 1.350

By Les Venus
Trumpeter has provided an excellent base so that in the right hands can be an outstanding model. It took me two goes yes but that’s no fault of the kit it is superb. Yes fit is a bit iffy in places but nothing a swipe with a sander or a little filler can’t fix and in this case its worth that bit of effort.
