Welcome to Club-Model
This area of the website is intended primarily for modellers taking their first steps into the hobby as beginners or those returning to it who want to refresh/update their modelling skills.
With this in mind we will be concentrating mainly on models built straight out of the box using only the provided kit parts, decals and colour scheme options, keeping construction straightforward and easy to follow while also keeping your budget to a minimum.
We don’t want to confuse or discourage less experienced modellers by presenting kit reviews featuring lots of extra aftermarket add-ons such as etched brass detail sets, resin interiors, individual working track links etc that not only require experience and skill to use but push up the total price of the finished model considerably.
This all too familiar format of kit review often gives less experienced modellers the impression that they have to be highly skilled super modellers with plenty of cash for the kits plus the extras and sometimes even special tools as well to get good results, you don’t!
Equally you don’t have to be an award winning modeller or own the most expensive airbrushes etc to achieve great looking realistic painting and weathering effects on your models.
Even if you’re on a budget, building a basic model kit using basic tools, paints, paintbrushes, aerosol paint cans or a budget airbrush, you can still produce a great looking model to be proud of. Our step by step “How to” guides found in the Techniques Bank (check out the Getting started link) and kit reviews (especially the In-Progress Reviews) aim to show you how to do just that.
Club-Model’s constantly updated kit reviews of Aircraft, AFV’s and Waterborne vessels, will feature easy to follow step by step clearly written guides on how to build, paint, weather and display the models and will be fully illustrated with lots of high resolution photos. Look out for these reviews in the main IPR area and of course the Full Review and Feature Article Library.
You can even arrange to contact the Author of a review for help if you get stuck with any of the steps or techniques used in their guide, plus you can visit the Techniques Bank at anytime which also contains full tutorials on all the techniques used in the reviews and much more besides.
In short Club-Model has all the resources you will need to improve your modelling skills from a total beginner to a competent skilled modeller able to achieve consistently good results.
Say goodbye to reading magazine articles over and over again and getting more confused every time, take advantage of all that Club-Model has to offer you now and find all the answers and help you’ve been looking for.
