On with the build…
Starting in the cockpit I carefully removed and cleaned up all the cockpit parts, so decide which of the options for the area behind the crew seats you want to add – storage box or a bench seat. The forward lower fuselage is split into two halves and the complete cockpit assembly slots into this, with the rear boom section adjoining it all.
All the parts need careful cleaning up – I can’t emphasise this enough and when done they do seem to fit perfectly well so far.
I’ve kept the cockpit floor and fittings separate just for now as the fuselage and boom halves need joining, gaps filling with sanding and re-scribing to get it all looking smooth.
To give the forward fuselage some weight and, hopefully, ensure the model sits square on the skids I have added some plasticine to the area under the cockpit floor. This also helps the floor sit nice and square and when it does, just add liquid poly to set everything in place.
While this all sets up you can get some of the other sub-assemblies cleaned up and joined like the engine, exhaust assembly, rear fuselage/booms etc.
The underside of the rear fuselage needs filling to get a nice smooth join and my usual mix of cyano/talc does the trick.

“Hello,Geoff” – It’s great to see the ‘Scout’ in scale form and looking forward to following your build progress as usual.
I haven’t heard of this kit manufacture until now.
I don’t know if you’ve seen the film ‘Who Dares Wins’ but there’s some great footage and scale-inspiration featuring the type.
As Always,
Paul.😉👍

Hi Paul,
Thanks and yes, great film and plenty of possibilities for modellers with this kit release. G

“Hello,Geoff” – She’s taking shape very nicely and looks great.
I really like your technique for dealing with butt-jointed glazing sections.
The mini-pegs are a great help too.Perfect for such work without too strong a grip.
We’ve a local HobbyCraft Store and it’s always enjoyable to search for such helpful items and sundries in there.
As Always,
Paul.😉👍

Nice job Geoff. Lovely little kit, I just wish someone would do a larger scale, 1/48th; Maybe Airfix?
Best Regards
James

Thanks James, much appreciated. Yes, couldn’t agree more, a 1:48, or even 1:32 would be great for a subject like this :) We wait….GC
