I have seen a number of titles over the years that have focused on German Knight’s Cross (KC) holders although usually these have been specific to their particular field, for example: aviation, maritime, military etc. This new title is excellent for many reasons, not least because all the KC holders are brought together in one place.
This book deals with 1939-1941 and takes you through each recipient and gives an informative, summative account of the individual and circumstances that led to receipt of their KC, plus other useful information.
I especially like the forward sections that give a good glossary of terms, ranks and so on by way of reminder that is very helpful to someone like me who covers a wide range of military (in the widest sense) and civilian subjects, individuals, events and campaigns.
Highly recommended to all.
