Airfix BAe Sea Harrier FA2 1:72 – build review

September 9, 2014 By Francis Porter

00 BN Ac Airfix Sea Harrier FA2 1.72
Short Feature Article by Dave Coward

Background

Airfix have produced the complete series of 1:72 Harriers ranging from the GR1, the GR3, the GR7/9 and the Sea Harrier FRS1 and FA2. My plan is to build this complete series and mount them on Airfix`s own 5 kit stand. They will all be `in-flight` so it should make a nice display.

Here Now review

Just before getting into the build, you may want to take a look at Geoff’s Here Now Airfix BAe Sea Harrier FA2 1:72 in-box review…

Getting into the build

This kit, along with the GR1 is the first in my Harrier project and is one of the older kits but that said it’s still a ‘new’ mould and has a lot of nice detail and on an initial look everything looks promising. This kit was built in parallel with the GR.1 so have a look at that build after this – I’ve included some pictures of the two kits together in the gallery at the end.

Being a 1:72nd kit this is a bit out of my usual area but every now and again it’s nice to build something that is out of the box and is a straightforward, uncomplicated project. With this in mind this is quite a short review as to be honest it was a quick build.

On to the build…
