Introduction
This has to be one of my favourite aircraft subjects in terms of modern service aircraft with the iconic twin tail and fire breathing afterburners, as a child I idolised the F-15.
The F-15 was designed primarily to combat the threat of the newest Soviet interceptor, the MiG 25 ‘Foxbat’ it also included the shortfalls that came to light during air combat in the Vietnam conflict. Realising the ‘Eagle’ could be also adapted in the air to ground role designers added conformal fuel/weapons pods on each side of the fuselage which allowed the aircraft to carry a staggering payload and the ability to fly greater distances to deliver it.
When this kit was released by Revell in 2000 the Hasegawa kit was the only real game in town but this was just a D airframe with conformal tanks added the Revell Eagle was a true E and was greatly received. Now Revell have re-released this wonderful kit with added bombs.
