Motivation for this project
When I saw Special Hobby was releasing this kit I knew it was something I really fancied a crack at. The box art alone sets the mouth-watering with a beautiful painting.
Upon opening the box there’s a plastic bag containing the sprues and another with the resin, a nice set of instructions, a small PE fret and decals complete the contents.
With the plane being slightly left field I decided I needed some reference. A quick online search and Radu Brinzan has produced a one-stop book for the 80 and 81 fighter. Amazon had it at a great price and a couple of clicks and 2 days later it arrived.
This book turns out to be a huge help getting everything correct and as you’ll see a nice quirk to the build.
