Review by Geoff Coughlin (June 2016)

Our thanks to Osprey Publishing for supplying our review copy – get this and many other great titles at Osprey Publishing

This is another in the successful Osprey Duel series that takes subjects that encountered each other in battle and gives you a good insight into the type, design-development, tactics, operations accompanied by high quality artwork and photos.

Coverage is very good for most scale modellers and is an ideal accompaniment to any build you may have in planning. The title provides context not to mention period photos that help in all aspects of weathering and and other detailing to try and create an authentic scale models of the types included.

The price makes these guides very attractive and is recommended to all modellers interested in either the Bf 109E/F or the Yak-1/7.

Other interesting additions are profiles and a potted history for some of the most famous pilots that flew the types, including Hermann Graf (Bf 109) and Mikhail Dmitrievich Baranov (Yak-1/7).

Recommended
