This has to be one of, if not the best, model shows in the UK for the quality of the models in competition.

This year was no exception, the results exceeded anything even the organises had prepared for, as they ran out of medals and will be having more cast to send to the worthy winners.

This is one show that awards medals on the basis of Gold, Silver, Bronze, Highly Commended and Commended. This is a really good way of rewarding the hard work put in by modellers, who took part and get recognition for such a high standard, which is so richly deserved.

The painting of the figures, especially for me the flats, was on the whole fantastic.

The military vehicles were again a great display and it was nice to see models that had appeared in print in several magazines on show and to see then in the flesh.

The dioramas were a little thin on the ground but this is one section I like to see and there were some very well constructed and painted items.

The best of show this year was a fantasy item of a knight slaying a dragon and was placed in the winner’s glass lit case which does not help get good pictures of it.

I will let the pictures speak for themselves, please note this is only a snapshot of what was on show.

This show seems to attract more and more people each year and as we only went for the Sunday, we were told that Saturday was hectic and the usual comments had been voiced about difficulty of moving in the aisles.

One point I would ask the organisers to address is the display of the models as the ones placed on the top shelf cannot be seen properly or the award given to it.

As usual it was a great show which both Andy Brown and myself enjoyed, both of us being blown away with the standards achieved. Now it looks like we will have to book for another year.
