While looking for some cleaner on the Ultimate website I came across this item and thought I’d like to see if it works.
The placers come in a sealed poly bag which contains two unsharpened “pencils” with labels both back and front on the packaging. The rear label has a set of instructions for use.
To use… the first job is to sharpen one end to a point with a sharp pencil sharpener. If yours is not too sharp finish off with a sharp blade. Touch the point gently to the photo etch or small styrene part, lift it and position where required on the model.
Once the tip looses it tackiness simply reshape.
Well… on the trial run it sharpened to a good point and with a piece of etch brass picked it up and deposited onto the required spot. So as the advert says “it does what it says”.
I think this will be a great addition to ones tool box as I for one am forever loosing small etch pieces held in tweezers which if squeezed too hard send the piece into the mouth of the carpet monster never to be seen again.
