Full Review with Mark Rooks
Just before we get started, here’s a look at how it all turned out…
This is my second build of the 1:35 Meng Rolls Royce Armoured Car for the magazine (here’s the first). This build is of the later 1924 pattern vehicle painted in the early 2nd World War British Caunter scheme. I added Meng’s own separate Pioneer and Ammunition set which in addition, provided sand channels and a more realistic (tool box)? for the running board. I also added a set of Def Models ‘Balloon Type’ resin replacements wheels which also included the two spares.
The Build
The Rolls Royce armoured car is based on the chassis of the beautiful Silver Ghost. These images are of the Silver Ghost Preserved in the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu!
Meng’s resin upgrade set of Pioneer Tools and Ammunition designed for this particular version was used along with a set of Def.Models resin Balloon Sagged Wheel Set which includes the two spare wheels.
The Caunter paint scheme used on this WW2 version.
