So, yet another in the prolific Osprey Modelling series.

This is more of a general modelling title, as opposed to concentrating on a specific subject.

This book will suit armour modellers at all stages in their modelling development. It starts with an introduction, before moving onto references and planning.

This is clearly aimed at less experienced modellers, however there are a few titbits which I gleaned, especially as, being a bit ‘mean’, I’d rather spend my cash on kits and accessories than books!

The next chapter deals with basic construction and is quite short as you may expect, however it is a good base at which to move onto the next chapter which moves onto advanced techniques.

This looks at working with after-market products, such as photo etch and resin as well as scratch building.

The standard of modelling is very high indeed and some of the scratch building is very intricate, it’s amazing what can be achieved with plastic card, inspiration and of course talent! The chapter also deals with resin casting, which is very useful for those who haven’t tried this yet, myself included.

The last part of the book deals with painting, weathering and finishing. All the basic techniques such as filters, washes and pigments are covered in clear text with very useful captioned photographs.

In summary, this is another useful generic modelling book aimed at inexperienced and masters alike.
