Review by Franck Oudin

No need to present the Bf109 to the modelling community, it must be the model most built in any version in the modelling world, always a good sales for any company who produce one at any scale.

Read a detailed Here Now in-box review of the Revell Messerschmitt Bf109G-10 “Erla” 1:32.

So why another 109… well the Revell offering is an “Erla” production Bf109G-10 built in Leipzig in Austria. With a slight different cowling on the left side, with big bulge for the wheels, a wooden tail, the choice for a long or short wheel.

The kit is moulded in very light grey with around 190 parts, the choice for the canopy open or closed, separated flaps and slats, 3 parts well detailed wheel bay, the landing gear bay has already the 4 holes open and cut just like the real machine, the wings are in 3 parts each ..why? Maybe Revell will model a new series of G-10 with small wheels bulges…who knows, but to be honest if this is not the case I wonder why they did it that way…really not necessary.

The complete kit is well detailed; the surface does not show any rivets details, so if you have the need to do so, plenty space to improve your model, one aspect of the kit that I did not understand and did not like is the landing gear moulded in 4 parts, it does not bring anything and make them very fragile!

Anyway…now let us see what we can achieve with this kit….
