HD Video demonstrations – update!
Moving on apace people… I have just had the first cut of the first demonstration video and it’s looking good. I hope to have more definite info for you all next week and will announce this in my Editorial, so watch this space!
We get it, we build it! – get us your samples manufacturers…
The fact is just about every kit that has come in for review has either been built (Finished Now), is under way (Build Now) or has a specific slot to be built over the coming weeks. So, come on you manufacturers and suppliers, if you want your new kit built first for everyone to see, then send it to me here at SMN (see full address in your top tab on the front cover of the Mag).
All new products received get properly reviewed with a full Here Now review with links to help subscribers with where they can go to buy your products.
Weekend Warriors!

Well, oh how we doubt the man (not me of course!!!)… Les did indeed finish his 1:35th Tamiya Challenger 2 in less than 8 hours – start to finish and I’m sure you’ll agree he’s done a great job. This just shows how you CAN have fun, CAN build and finish a great kit in only a small number of hours and that you CAN be happy with what you’ve achieved. Check out the full, completed build in Finished Now.
More on the way soon here – as Dave Coward sends in his first 1:48th scale Fw-190 images – we’ll get this into SMN in short order so keep an eye out for that one in Weekend Warriors this week. AND, you’ll never believe it – he’s done it in less time than Les… Oh my word, do I sense some competition creeping in here? – do you? That’s what the WW area is all about – FUN!
Come on everyone, let me know what you are working on and how long it’s taking you and send in the words and pics to me here at geoff@scalemodellingnow.com.
Aircraft stuff!

Live today is Dave C’s completed 1:48th scale Hasegawa F-22 Raptor – a superb piece of work. Dave shows you just how to achieve that subtle metallic-grey camo scheme. The results are impressive and this is well worth checking out guys, so go and take a look!
Special Hobby Fiat BR 20 Cicogna 1:48th scale…Problems sorted!
Dean has been working wonders on the tricky SH Cicogna and more importantly showing you HOW to get the wing joins and undercarriage all lined up – not so easy it seems but what I like about Dean’s approach as I hope you are finding here in SMN, we are about practical help, fixes and solutions – not winging and wining – come on we ARE trying to enjoy our hobby, aren’t we?
Luftwaffe renaissance!
It had to happen with your Editor historically up to his proverbial neck in Luftwaffe models – we have some great stuff on the way for you.
Max’s Revell-Monogram Bf-110G in 1:48th scale entering Build Now as I speak… a real history behind this project that you’ll find fascinating and Max will tell the story for you as the build, or should I say builds progress over the coming weeks – just love this one – take a look as soon as it’s live in the next few days.
Airfix – is back! – I am writing the full in-box review of their 1:48th scale Bf-109E-1, E-3, E-4 for Here Now as this update goes to press. This all-new tooling looks good on the sprues and the box art is simply awesome – check out their Mk.V Spit too – at last more manufacturer’s are realising the importance of great box art.
Check out Dave’s 1:48th Fw-190 in Weekend Warriors too – coming very soon!
Maritime stuff!
At last! I have a Maritime Editor back in play… thanks Mat, I know how difficult it can be moving house and dealing with the dreaded telephone companies… still, back on line and full steam ahead. And, yes, you guessed it, Les can’t stay away from vessels – see I can use the right lingo from time to time! Seriously for a moment, we’ve agreed some fantastic maritime projects with Les over the coming months – hear that Les? Months, not hours this time… so keen, sooo enthusiastic… top man!
Obviously I can’t say exactly what’s due (I don’t want to give away all out secrets) but keep a careful eye out in Here Now and you’ll see the clues there…just before we go live with a full build project.

In the meantime… White Ensign’s superb 1:350th HMS Abercrombie is already advanced in Build Now with more to come this week.
Armour stuff!
Lots going on in here…
You know about the great Weekend Warriors Challenger 2 project but plenty of other builds progressing as I speak:
Eduard M-4A3 76W Sherman tank 1:72nd scale – Part 2 live with Part 3 on the way
Great Wall Hobby Flak 43 auf sWS, kit-L3516 1:35th scale – just received the final pics of this in-depth build and we’ll finish this one off for you over the next ten days
CMK Pz.Kpfw 35t 1:35th scale – Bill Curtis’s supreme effort is finally there – a truly awesome build and one of the best armour projects I have ever seen in terms of believability. We’ll be finishing this one off for you shortly
Tristar-38t 1.35 scale – Steven’s build makes good progress and a new update will go live this week
And so much more to come in the way of new projects… keep an eye on you’re Here Now area for clues
