That USS Arizona
Les will also be bringing his amazing Trumpeter 1:200 USS Arizona to Telford – you’ll be able to see it in the SMW Competition along with several of the other projects featured in SMN, including Jamie H’s Dragon DML 1:35 Panther – again, another awesome piece of modelling. Brian K’s Italeri BMW R75 Motorcycle diorama should also be in the competition, so there’s plenty to get excited about in your visit to the BIG one!

Armour Techniques
Jamie H and I are set up for a video shoot next week to start the first 2-3 HD video demos, illustrating some valuable armour techniques that you can all try. It’ll take a few days to edit and get them ready for SMN, but within the next month you will see, all being well, at least 2, possibly more short technique videos showing HOW to achieve the great results guys like Jamie do.
Check out below this image of his Dragon Panther – see what I mean?

Go on Revell in it!
Yes, ok , but check out the number of great kits being released, and, more importantly being covered in extensive detail here in Scale Modelling Now.
You’ll see that we’ve just started to run Dave C’s excellent 1:32 Junkers Ju 88A Battle of Britain build, we recently built BOTH the Weisel Ozelot AFVs; Dave C is soon to start the huge Heinkel He 111, Les built the Fletcher Class destroyer, GATO Class sub and of course, his amazing Bismarck… so much to Revell in!
Going forward too is their new 1:72 Junkers Ju 88 and that is being scheduled as we speak – I am just waiting for Eduard to do a set of their canopy framing masks (well have you seen how many windows there are?!!) and I’ll be starting that great project.
Plenty more to Revell in going forward…
Come on in and join our community…
Have you visited our Facebook pages yet? What are you waiting for?!
This is a great place to go, chat and interact directly with the SMN team and other modellers and subscribers. SMN’s FB page offer you an excellent chance to:
- See how friendly and supportive the SMN community of modellers is
- Ask your modelling questions and get answers to help you build better models
- See in advance model projects we are about to complete, are in progress and generally what’s coming to the pages of SMN
- See photo albums and pics of past and current projects
- Influence what we feature in SMN – what builds do you want to see? What techniques do you want us to cover and help you with? Ask away and there’s a good chance I will be able to do it. Not many editors can be that flexible!
- Dip your toe in the water for free – get a heads up on great stuff going on in the mag and go direct to areas of SMN without subscribing to see some impressive stuff.
Ok, must be going…
That’s it for now as we need to set off for Telford, but we’ll be back soon with a full show report and some highlights to share with you and tell you about more developments with SMN in the coming weeks – watch this space!
Best wishes
Geoff
