Here’s a new offering to the Noy’s Miniatures range: An IDF/AF (Israeli Air Force) Airbase set. It is offered in the popular 1:48, 1:72 & 1:144 scales.

This unique and innovative set is aimed at the many enthusiasts and admirers of the modern Israeli Air Force the world over, and is provided in 2 authentic versions:

Version 1 includes 3 prints: The first print depicts the concrete\asphalt surface upon which the modern IAF jets roll; the second print is a backdrop depicting a concrete revetment with the airfield view and an IAF F-16 taking off, afterburner a-blaze, while the Israeli desert mountains tower in the background; the third print is an additional BONUS free of charge 3D component that enables the modeler to create the concrete revetment wall in 3D.

Version 2 includes 2 prints: The first print depicts the concrete\asphalt surface upon which the modern IAF jets roll; the second print is a backdrop depicting an earth & grass revetment with an airfield view and the Israeli desert mountains in the background, while a diamond formation of 4 F-16s crosses the sky above.

The set, in its 2 versions, will fit models of modern IAF combat jets and will therefore appeal, as mentioned before, to many aircraft models enthusiasts of that magnificent air force.

How I’ve used these bases before…

There’s no doubt that the card bases will add greatly to show off your latest creation. They will stick very well to a hard wooden or base board with ordinary PVA white glue. I’ve done it several times now and it works very well. Just apply glue to the whole of the back leaving no gaps and add a supporting flat weight like a large book to keep the surfaces flat while drying and voila, job done.

What I have done is lightly spray flat varnish over the base to tone down the slightly shiny appearance of the printed card and this works well – just go easy and build up any effect, leaving the card to dry between applications.
