Initial assessment
The powders, 50 ml content, come in plastic bottles with a square base and a flip top lid which can also be unscrewed from the body if required. GP08 is slightly different in having a screw top only and the bottle size is different but still holds 50ml.
As one can see from the list it is not a complete range on review but from the ones I have used I found them finely ground. I tried them on the front of my Firefly and they can be ground into the surface with an old brush or as I like to do to build up some volume by filling the paint brush with the pigment and then tapping it so the pigment is dropped onto the surface. I then use Tamiya X-20 Thinner applied either by brush touching the outside of the deposited pigment and capillary action will take it over the pigment wetting it, once dried the pigment will hold in place. Alternatively, the other method is to spray the thinner over the pigment at a low pressure so as not to disturb the pigment. Letting the spray drop onto the pigment wetting it and again when dry it will hold in place.
Conclusions
The first thing one notices is the shape of the container with its square bottom which I initially thought might make for a more stable item whilst working, but a quick experiment proved this not to be the case, so as with all the other small pigment containers care is needed when in use.
The size of the jar is larger than the other suppliers, except Pinnacle, but for the smaller units price is comparable. The products are good to handle and do what they were intended to do and I know they will mix with other brands.
Having looked at some other products from the Wilder range I feel it safe to say that Adam will not settle for anything less than the best and I will be adding more of these to my store of pigments.
