Weathering in 1 Day : Aircraft – with Jamie Haggo

Who is this workshop aimed at?
Anyone with any basic experience of building scale models. Whether you are an experienced modeller, returning to the hobby after several years break or just want to develop your skills or learn something new, this workshop is for you!

What you’ll be doing…

In a small group of up to a maximum of 20 modellers you will see Jamie going through all the steps below AND practicing them for yourself with Jamie giving you friendly, practical help at every stage.

Here are the main techniques Jamie will cover with you:

• weathering the Revell 1:32 Messerschmitt Bf109G with a winter camouflage
• applying the white winter paint
• realistic chipping using the ‘hairspray technique’
• sponge and paint brush paint chipping techniques
• using weathering pigments
• oil effects and washes over acrylic paint using enamel thinners
• exhaust staining
• using your compressor and airbrush for some of the above.

Other Information:

• Bring along any model you have painted in the base colour(s) – try and use acrylic paints if you can, watch Jamie demonstrate and then use his techniques
• You will have plenty of tea, coffee and refreshments available all day
• A buffet lunch will be provided too
• A great UK venue that’s easy to get to and has lots of free parking
• An opportunity to talk to Jamie informally during the breaks as well as all the other workshop tutors, Geoff Coughlin and other participants on the day – a maximum of just 60 places will be available in total across all 3 workshops.
