Aircraft stuff!
Tornado IDS…

Plenty along this week, with Dave Cs concluding part to his Hobby Boss Tornado IDS in 1:48 scale. Dave has gone the interesting route that’s for sure by adding some great aftermarket decals to transform the basic kit into one attractive aircraft – check it out now in Finished Now. As he says… I had a spare set of Xtradecals for 1:48th Tornado GR1s (X011-48) from a previous build many years ago and on this sheet were two versions of the `Raspberry Ripple` RAE/Flight Systems Bedford jet ZA326 in 1989 and 1991 – it covered the right variant, was British and weapons wouldn’t be an issue – decision made !!
deHavilland Mosquito FB.Mk.VI super-detailed build…
Julian is making great progress on this awesome project – the main problem he’s finding is handling this great kit for spraying because of its size! More updates going live early next week, so keep checking in. He’s up to the painting stage now, take a look now….

Messerschmitt Bf-110G-4…
Max is making good progress here too as he tackles the nose guns and gun bay in his Eduard kit. Having built this model, I know how challenging this area can be and so we follow progress with interest.
Highlights coming next week are:
Airfix Messerschmitt Bf-109E-4 (1:48 scale) – this impressive release is underway by your truly and the first instalment will go live next week. The kit is well detailed with loads of options and if you haven’t seen my detailed in-box review, do check that out soon. The cockpit is nearly there and I expect progress to be rapid. Loving this one too – what is it with Airfix these days? Producing some very tidy models – keep it up Airfix, the market is there for the taking!
Xtrakit Supermarine Swift FR.Mk.5 (1:72 scale) – concludes! I really loved this project and can’t wait to get stuck into another. Really surprised that the only other review I’ve seen rates this as an ‘Intermediate’ project. Sorry, I can’t agree, I loved it, so see what I made of this one in the second and final part next week.
Italeri Boeing ACH-47A Chinook (1:48 scale) – gets underway. This excellent project has been undertaken by Les V and he’s done a great job of the whole thing. I saw the completed model down at our local club on Tuesday and he’s done a stunning weathering job, so we’ll bring you this over the next 2-3 weeks.
Plus other updates, so keep checking in…
