What is it?
This paint is designed to be airbrushed AND, the great news is that it can be used to hand paint details like undercarriage legs, doors, oleo legs, chrome-like hydraulic rams and a multitude of other parts that you need to look metallic.
I was genuinely blown away by just how good this paint is when used straight from the bottle and hand painted – no streaking, settles down to a very smooth finish AND you get some seconds to work the surface during application to ensure that smooth, painted-on look – amazing, really, it’s that good.
A while back a fellow modeller said that I should try it and so I bought a few bottles and, well now, it’s my default paint for so many small painting tasks.
You can see a selection of the range in the accompanying photos and there are more than enough variations and tones / shades for all my modelling needs – everything from White Aluminium that’s like chrome through to Magnesium, that’s very dark.
No need to thin
Just a good shake and you’re good to go! Just pop up the lid and you have a great little reservoir in the lid that I dip my brush into and when I need more paint just close the lid, give the bottle a quick shake and pop up the lid to carry on – love it, because it’s so easy.
For almost all tasks I use a small flat bristle paintbrush – it’s easier to get a smooth, flat and uneven finish and it’s easier to blend in the paint as you go. Just work quickly and evenly.
This is another excellent feature, coverage is extremely good and also opacity is great too; that all means your paint will go a long way.
Here I’m applying the Dark Aluminium to the main gear legs and then the brighter White Aluminium to the hydraulic ram in the leg.

Here are a couple of photos of how it turned out and at least you get an idea of what your handiwork will look like. Just get hold of these paints and give it a go, you won’t be disappointed!
Until next time…
