Just before we get started, here’s a look at how it all turned out…

A little about the kit

The kit chosen for this project is the Aoshima Nissan Skyline BNR34 GT-R Nismo S-Tune ’04 kit, a kit I have been wanting to add to my collection for a few years after seeing the original kit had been produced in the early 00’s. It was a very difficult kit to find… until they had decided to re-release it this year, which at that point, went straight to the top of my wish list.
As for the kit itself, it is a replica of the 2004 car produced by Nismo, the S-tune (street package) which is possibly one of the rarest versions of an R34 GT-R.
The kit comes with:

• the 19” LMGT4 Nismo wheels
• S-tune V-specII bonnet (which was selected for this build) or the Z-tune bonnet
• the aerodynamic parts for the bodywork
• S-tune front bumper
• big bore exhaust
• actual springs for the suspension (which is common in a lot of Aoshima car kits, especially the tuner versions)
• 2 standard R34 GT-R front seats and a drivers’ bucket seat (which was selected for this build)
• mesh for the front bumper grilles and a welcome addition to any kit
• window masks, which also come in most Aoshima kits.
