Build summary:
So for the eagle eyed of you, this is indeed the second time that I have built this kit, but now time with a few added details, plus, it’s such a nice kit to work on it probably won’t be my last time building this kit either.
For this paint job, the colour is Proscale Paints Nissan Bayside Blue (which famously adorns many a Skyline R34 GT-R) under Proscale Paints 2k clear coat system, which had a two stage polish using Meguiars scratch X and a medium cutting pad and Meguiars ultimate polish compound and a fine cutting pad.
The additions I have added for this kit are as follows:
- Zoomon photo etch & decal number plates
- Zoomon keyhole metal stickers
- Zoomon metal Nissan badge, Nismo & GT-R emblem (with the kit decal over the top)
- Zoomon metal exhaust
- Eduard photo etch set belts
- A sheet of clear plastic cut to size for instrument panel to imitate the screen in front of the dials
- Proscale Paints textured yellow paint for the drivers sport racing seat
- Not so much an addition but removal, but I removed the side windows to gain a better view to the interior.
- Proscale paints flocking for the carpet and parcel shelf.
I also drilled open the side vents on the front bumper as they were moulded in and wouldn’t look right.
The rest of the build is box stock, a nice fitting kit with no issues and functioning suspension, and yes, the kit comes with actual springs, a great addition in a great kit.
Thank you for looking and reading
And now for something completely different and unexpected! Working on a new project until I can get back onto the MCR project, with this awesome S-Tune kit from Aoshima!
Here’s a quick look at how it all turned out…
A little here’s what I made earlier by using what would of been the interior for the MCR on this build more instead.
A nice easy chassis and running gear set, with a little focus on a feature not seen on many other kits, with the working suspension
So here we are, wrapping up this lovely kit from Aoshima, one of my favourite looking builds, a shame it’s ended, but happy with how it’s ended up!
Hope you enjoyed the build!
