The photos in the next series…
Below is where the model has received its primary colour of white.
These next photos show the first time, family and friends actually saw the model at this stage. A green outdoor carpet represents the grass and the trees were made from small nails for the trunks and the foliage is actually from a flowering plant I saw in the park while walking one day.
The lakes were cut out twice.
The first one didn’t look right so I redid it as can be seen in the other pictures.
The remaining pictures I photo-shopped the back grounds to blend in with the model. I also included a video we had put together which looks pretty cool.
Under the main dome, are six skyscrapers sitting on a multi-tiered floor plan complete with grass, shrubbery and walkways.
The construction materials consisted primarily of foam core board, green floral foam, and styrene plastic for the six arms over the acrylic dome that I had specially blown for this to keep it all in scale. The model is eight feet long and five feet wide, and is mounted on two closet sliding doors.
