What’s in the package
We have a growing number of Mirage Hobby kits going through our system at present and you should start to see these as builds in their respective Areas within SMN and What’s New.
I’ve been very impressed so far with the quality and finesse of these kits and this one – the C7P Heavy Artillery Tractor is no exception.
Breakdown of all the parts looks conventional enough and there are some real highlights including the textured and realistically moulded seat cushions – not often seen that before and they’ll be plainly visible through the open sides and cab windscreen.
The cross-tread plating is well represented on the cab floor and interior as are some of the smaller details like the rifles – nice to see a few of these included to help add interest to your model.
The drive wheels are nicely tooled with precise moulding and detail – speaking of which, the rivet detail is effective across the model.
Vinyl/rubber parts
The tracks are supplied as conventional one-piece items and also included in this medium is the tow rope. Useful that it’s flexible, allowing you to position it as you wish on your model.
Clear parts
These are quite well moulded with integral windscreen wipers. The screens on my sample have slight mould defects although these aren’t too serious and may not even be easily visible on the completed build – we’ll have to see.
Instructions and decals
The booklet looks straightforward enough, printed in black and white. Colour labels indicate the basic colours to be used and no doubt you’ll source those yourselves from you favourite manufacturer.
The decals look decent enough quality – in register and good colour.
