History
Figures are suitable for the mid-years of WWII Armoured vehicles.
Initial assessment
The figures come on two sprues in clear bags with a parts count of 70 moulded in grey plastic in a tray-type box with a lid containing eight figures. Four full-body figures depicting two men studying a map, an officer looking into the distance and a soldier peering through binoculars, as well as another four half body figures, including an officer that fits into the tank’s cupola, a commander giving an arm raised signal, plus a driver and a further crew figure suitable for a radio operator/gunner on Pz II up to the Tiger tanks and also armoured cars.
Accuracy
The uniforms are rendered in a very lifelike and accurate manner as are the faces and the figures stances. The moulding of the cloth on the uniforms is very good with ample creases that you’d expect some of the figures to have.
Quality
Overall the quality of the moulding is very good and the fit of parts looks to be good. There are some parting lines but these should not take long to remove but the moulding of the medals is very soft but as these will be covered by the decals it’s a moot point.
Instructions
Instructions come on two sheets; the first is the assembly guide on both the front and back while a separate sheet shows a figure in colour with its medals and marking. On the reverse are two drawings also in colour, one officer and an enlisted man showing the marking and medals of both. On this side are instructions for fitting the decal.
Decals
Decals are supplied making it much easier and more precise than painting for cap badges, shoulder epaulets, collar insignia, chest eagles, rank insignia, belt buckles, medals and ribbons.
Conclusions
To sum up – a real gem with the added items of parts to position the Torso type figures into the vehicle which can be cut to size depending how much of the figure you want out of the hatch. Four head sets are also included, I think that the ears will need to be removed from any figure fitted with these and also wires, throat mics and control box will need adding.
I am looking forward to building these figures as they are almost as good as resin at a very reasonable price.
